I booked the transport of my 98 Chevy K-1500 with Aaall States Transport who I knew were only brokers. (They were GREAT!! Dave was awesome!!) I had purchased this truck on Ebay and it came with a full size snow plow which was loaded in the back of the truck. Since the truck is a shortbed, the tailgate would have to be down. THIS WAS VERY CLEAR IN THE POSTED ORDER!!

On May 7th, I authorized Aaall States (Dave) for $1000. (Aaall States cut of this amount was $175.) 2 hours after this order was listed, Dave called saying a truck wanted the load, but needed an extra $75. for the plow. Since the distance was so great ( and after spending $1000. what's another $75.?) I opted to accept the offer only to be called back and hour later to be told that the driver had already left the area, so we were still looking. Next day Dave calls and says that the driver must have lost a load because they WILL go back and get the truck. Pick up scheduled for Monday or Tuesday; May 11 or 12.

Now the interesting part.

Truck arrived in Warwick, Rhode Island to pick up my vehicle very late in the afternoon on Tuesday the 12th. Immediately recieved a call from "drivers son" saying I needed to pay $75. more because of the plow in the back. I replied "NO!" and immediately called the Motion Express office and Dave at Aaall States.
The person I talked to at Motion Express; Dennis, had an extreme foriegn accent (middle east/India ??) and was hard to understand. He said he would look into it and call back. Dave said "NO WAY, I'll take care of it"

Motin Express called back and said" No, the driver just wanted to know if you WOULD pay more" and chuckled through the conversation like 'Oh well, we tried!' Dave called back and said "Everything is as it was agreed to".

Fast forward to Thursday, May 14. Recieved a call at 5 PM from the drivers son saying the driver would be in Butte at midnight. Didn't really want to recieve my vehicle at night, but thought I would just do it with flashlights so as not to put driver through any more hassles. I consented to a midnight delivery. I also told him that the driver could go to the local mall and drop off my vehicle; again trying to make the drivers job as easy as possible by being in a large, empty parking lot.

At 10 PM that night I recieved ANOTHER call from the drivers son saying "the driver had been pulled over because MY TRUCK was too long. He would be an hour late and had recieved a $100. ticket. The driver wants you to help pay that".

I laughed and again said "NO! Call me 1/2 hour before the driver gets here". Since delivery time was now 1 AM, I arranged not to have to be at work at 5 am.

Finally at 1:30 AM the drivers son called saying the truck was 20 minutes out. He showed up at about that time and started to tell me about his deal at the weigh station. Very heavy Russian(?) accent made him also hard to understand (Now I knew why the drivers son had done all the calling)

I just smiled and said "I'm sorry to hear that" and the matter was dropped. The driver had my truck unloaded, paper work done and I was home 30 minutes after he arrived. I paid him the $900. I had agreed to in cash, which he REALLY liked!

To the drivers and Motion Express' credit, my truck did arrive earlier than expected, without any damage and was only as dirty as I would expect having been transported 2500 miles on a open car carrier.

If it hadn't been for the attempted money scam, it would have been a good deal!!

Just be aware that trying to get more money out of you after they have your vehicle seems to be a common practice (per other rewiews posted here) but if you stick to your guns, and make your broker aware of what they are doing, you will end up OK.
