Poor customer service

I had my car transported to Arizona. I did not use the car for over a week after it was delivered, and did not remove the baskets that I had moved in the car until later. When I brought the baskets into the house there was an odor that caused me to have severe asthma attacks. I didn’t associate the smell with the baskets right away because of other items brought into the house during my move. When I drove the car for the first time I found a vapor cigarette rattling around on the floor and the same odor. I assume someone smoked in my car or dropped the cigarette when loading. The extreme heat may have caused the cigarette to leak the odor. When I called they would not investigate or offer any compensation because I waited 16 days to call.. They tried to blame me. I don’t even know anyone who smokes. And I am very sensitive to smoke. I was definatunhappy thigh how they handled the situation and their customer service

Hello Carla. Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that we have not met your expectations. Montway's services are to match your shipment with a licensed and insured motor carrier. Montway does not physically handle any vehicle at any time. Our team has been in contact with you and has advised you that the vehicle’s smell is not accounted for or inspected during transport. As outlined by the USDOT, the transporter is only required to inspect the visible exterior of the vehicle. We have investigated this internally and spoke to the carrier regarding these concerns- however, due to the amount of time that has passed since delivery and the absence of conclusive evidence, we are unable to determine with certainty that this occurred during transport. Due to these reasons, we are unable to offer compensation.
