Had Montway transport my Mercedes. When they got down to the destination about noon the scheduled drop off day, and called the drop off contact, they lied and said they did not have the drop off address. I know the driver (from Carolina Logistics) did because I verified with him when he picked up the car and he showed it to me on his phone. When asked where the driver was he stated on the road although you could hear kids screaming in the back ground so obviously not on the road. When offered the drop off address he was reluctant to take it. He then promised to drop off the cr at 5 as he had a 4pm appointment. At nearly 6 with no word I called Montway and was told the driver was out of hours, then later told the driver had to change a tire. When I asked about the multiple stories the Montway rep told me he was confusing my car with another Mercedes. I demanded the car be delivered. The driver finally delivered the car around 8PM but rather than bringing it on the truck he had already unloaded the car and drove the car to the destination without prior permission. They burned up appr 1/8 tank of gas in the process. so I don't know how far they drove the car. I would never use Montway again and definitely never recommend them to anyone else. Should have called Road Runner.

Hello, we're sorry to hear the experience did not meet your expectations. But we also believe there is a lot of misunderstanding within this review. First, let's get it out of the way that drivers do have heavy restrictions on when and where they can drive. You can review hours of service here: https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/hours-service/summary-hours-service-regulations It is absolutely correct that you demanded the car to be delivered. Even going as far as threatening our company and the driver with chargebacks and negative reviews if we did not meet your demands. You were essentially trying to force the driver to break federal regulations. Obviously, we can't do this. When the driver's hours were back up, they attempted to deliver. But due to restrictions in your residential area, could not bring directly to your door. This was communicated to you and met with resistance. The driver will always try and get as close and legally as possible to the locations. The truck driver asked you to meet outside the residential area around 5-10 miles away. This is normal in auto transport and was explained to you. We also provided our terms and conditions which are also posted on our website at https://www.montway.com/terms-and-conditions. You refused to meet the driver and they made the decision to drive the vehicle into your residential area from their truck. The question comes up then does Montway allow carriers to drive customer vehicles? No, we don't allow this. However, motor carriers are able to operate vehicles within reason. And because they are their own entity, take full responsibility for the shipment while it is in their care. I would recommend reading FMCSA motor carrier regulations in full to fully understand policies and procedures. I provided the link to their website earlier in this reply. Auto logistics is a complex and heavily regulated industry. That is why we are here to assist. If you would like to discuss further, I encourage you to contact us at feedback@montway.com. -Rick
