Worst experience in shipping vehicle

Had the worst experience in shipping my vehicle. First I was told a time frame when to have the car pick up, they called days before the window they gave me. I was called the same day and ask if the car will be ready in 2 hours, I left work early to have car picked up and then the shipper never showed up or contacted me after agreeing that I will leave work to meet them.

The car was picked up the following day after me calling a few times to get something confirmed and I was told expect the car to be delivered within 48 hours, that time passed I reach out to be told the driver truck broke down while en route. The car was actually picked up on 6/21/17, no sort of updates from Montway as to driver dispatched, car picked up or in transit. The car was delivered to me on 7/1/17 and still no updates in te process from Montway. They used this horrible shipping company called Dependable Logistics and I had very little communication from them and they never returned my calls or text messages.

Once car delivered I received the car with damages on the back bumper ad scratches on the rear of the vehicle and it was very obvious they tried to cover the damages being the paint was very dull from multiple times they tried to wipe that area with something that made the paint dull from whatever they used to wipe. I sent Montway live photos at pick up and delivery of the car and I had videos showing the car being handled with the shipper to show proof that the car was not received i the condition I gave the shipper. The car was not delivered to my door, one of the drivers drove my car to me from where they parked their truck and I live in an area where large freight trucks could of parked safely.

What make it worst they are telling me to file a claim on my insurance being Montway and the horrible shipping company they used are trying to refuse to pay for the damages. I am like being I did not cause the damages why should I file a claim against my insurance and pay a deductible for damages I did not cause. I will never use Montway again and anyone should use with caution and think twice of working with this Illinois based company.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us on Transport Reviews. We regret to learn you have encountered damages with your transport. Our in- house claims department has been in contact with the reviewer to provide detailed steps and documentation for filing a formal claim. Please allow us the opportunity to explain the damages reported were not marked on the bill of lading at the time of the delivery inspection. As well as the damage being reported days after delivery. Unfortunately, there is a gap from delivery to the time the damage reported which makes it difficult to validate when the damage actually occurred. If the reviewer chooses to go thru his own insurance company that is his decision and we can not stop that but we can provide the proper documentation to help his insurance with the matter for a proper subrogation to be filed. At this time Montway has started a formal claim with the proper insurance party and have shared all claim information with the reviewer.
