I found transportreviews.com, when I began looking for someone to transport my car from central California to Texas.

After reading a number of reviews, I concluded that I would use a small-to-medium-sized firm that had overall positive reviews.

Bear this in mind when you decide to have your car transported:

The folks who actually transport your vehicle, be they employees of the transport company, or contractors who deliver for one or more firms, contend with several variables (weather, delays at one end or the other due to customers, delays at one end or the other while trying to make up a profitable load, mechanical failures, etc.). Therefore, it is not entirely unlikely that several days could be added to the estimated delivery date of your vehicle (unless you pay a hefty premium for "faster" delivery, and even then there is no ironclad guarantee your vehicle will be delivered exactly when you want it).

So I decided that I would not pay much attention to any negative reviews that were caused by what I consider "reasonable delays"--a week or so-- given the nature of this business.

An advantage of a well-rated smaller firm, in my estimation, is that they have a smaller stable of drivers and fewer contact points, and are therefore less likely to drop the ball, simply because you are one of a few customers, rather that one of a great many.

With those constraints and criteria in mind, I chose Monstar, and was not disappointed.

I made sure that my contact, Letty, was aware of what mattered most to me: the delivery of my car without any intermediate loading and unloading (no sitting in a lot somewhere), and delivery in a reasonable amount of time (within a week or so of pickup).

A few days before my car was ready to be picked up, I spoke with Letty, and she advised me that the driver she had originally thought would be in CA by that Friday had not yet left Texas. I advised her that I had discovered that my friend, who was keeping the car at his house, was not parking it in his garage as I had thought, but instead was keeping it in his driveway. . . and having to juggle his cars around it. So I hoped that an alternate driver could be found soon.

Within two days, she had arranged alternate transport, and the car was actually delivered two days EARLIER than originally scheduled.

So I would have to say that I was extremely pleased with Monstar's service. Letty was consistent, courteous, and resourceful. And my car arrived on a small, three-car transporter within three days of leaving California. The driver was polite and careful unloading the car, as my friend in CA had told me he was when loading it there.

All in all, a very positive experience.
