Getting a broker was the way to go. They get better prices than you would if you called around yourself. I shipped my car from San Francisco to Chicago for $1950 using a private shipper that I found myself, then I found out about brokers and used Mercury Auto Transport, and shipped from Chicago to San Francisco for $970, three months later. I'm kicking myself for having wasteed $1k!!!
Jim was pretty honest about how brokers are commissioned, and about the whole process.
