A nightmare experience

When I submitted a delivery, I did not know that the company I used (National Auto Transport) would contract the work out to M & E. The carrier arrived a day earlier than scheduled and I paid in advance because I was under the (strong) impression, courtesy of the transport company, that my vehicle would arrive before my move.

It has been over 30 days since my car was taken. I have been given five separate, and unfulfilled, drop-off dates. The contractor and M & E have been utterly unhelpful in regards to telling me that my car is not coming and assuring me that it will arrive. The men I speak to at M & E in Massachussetts, which is supposedly where my car is now located, frequently interrupt me and tell me that they "will call back" and never do.

I have been told that the truck carrying my car is "in the shop," and in some mysterious location undisclosed to me. The other day, the man I spoke to, Hass or Ed or whoever, would not answer my calls after I was told to call back when he would have additional information. And he frequently pressures me into coming to Massachusetts to retrieve the car myself. I assume that they would shirk on that, too.

I would advise anyone looking for a transporter to deal with the company directly rather than having the work contracted. It will save you many phone calls and a few headaches. Also try to do COD if possible, and retain all your paperwork and evidence of transactions.
