We received a quote of $2281, but ended up paying $2531. We secured Magic Carpet Auto several months before our scheduled move with a tentative pick up date. As the date came and went, Kathy explained that Magic Carpet was unable to find a carrier. We had left the car with a friend for transport while we were enroute to Alaska. Kathy found a carrier and left us a phone message (cell coverage was poor as we were traveling through some parts of Montana). We called her 2-3 hours later and she basically said she found a carrier, but that it was probably too late since we did not answer her call. Also, she said she was unable to secure a carrier without another $250 and blamed the carrier for this. Turns out it was too late for this one, but she found another fairly quickly and we sent another $250. We had a tentative arrival date as well. After this date passed, I contacted Kathy who said our car was in port. I contacted the port who said the car had been there 5 DAYS, but they could not release it to us because Magic Carpet did not fax the correct paperwork. We were without a car and did not know it was even there because Magic Carpet did not fax the correct paperwork. During this process, it was all very disjointed and every time there was a problem, it was always someone else's fault - us, the carrier, the port people. We found Kathy to be unfriendly and not very understanding of our frustration. We would not use Magic Carpet Auto again, nor would we recommend them to friends.
