What I learned from this experience is that brokers like Magic Carpet really have no say in how quickly your car will be delivered to you, or what it will cost you. You are at the mercy of the independent truck drivers. Magic Carpet quoted pickup in 1-7 days at a price of $785, delivered to my house. Two weeks went by, and my car had not been picked up. A couple of days later I got a call that said there was driver available to pick up my car, but he would only do it if I kicked in another $200. I felt like I was being held up, so I said no. A few days later, still no pickup, so I caved on the $200. Long story short, $785 and pickup in 1-7 days became $995 and three weeks. I had no option other than to let the car sit indefinitely. And they cannot promise door-to-door service either. That is 100% up to the driver, who will likely refuse to drive his truck into your neighborhood.

Magic Carpet (or any broker, for that matter) simply cannot live up to their promises on pickup, delivery, etc. Those things are beyond their control. It's all up to the drivers, so keep that in mind when engaging them. Magic Carpet's customer service was fine, however powerless they were to make things happen.

Dylan, I was really hoping things could go smoother with your transport. Sometimes in this industry we are a bit challenged when the supply does not meet the demand for auto shipment and that was truly the case on this one. We as individual representatives do not always know when a route will come up as a more popular route as opposed to others from week to week. We do wish you the best. Michelle
