Magic Carpet Auto Transport does not directly ship vehicles, instead they are a broker and use other companies to handle the transport. With that said, my broker, Kathy, found me a company "L&D Motorsports" to ship my truck from Michigan to California. Magic carpet did their part by locating me the said company, but I ended up paying a little more than her initial quote (around $30 in addition). I think (or hope) Kathy tried to do her best about trying to keep L&D Motorsports to keep their pick up times, but they were 2 days late, and they also picked up my truck at midnight. This caused a conflict because I flew out to Michigan in order to specifically handle the transaction and was anticipating a pickup time that was convenient to my schedule and was confirmed of a reasonable date and time by my broker from magic carpet and from L&D (I was there for 7 days and the pick-up was suppose to happen the morning of my 5th day there). Unfortunately, L&D's driver was on his own program and arrived 2 days late and at an unreasonable hour, causing me to make other arrangements with family and friends to handle the transaction in my absence. L&D's dispatcher (and driver) called me and tried to drop my car off early, but were unable to keep that deadline as well (it was suppose to be a Saturday night but ended up arriving at 9pm Sunday), so I basically wasted an evening and an entire day waiting for them to show up. And when I received my truck I found all 4 tires to be almost completely flat... plus I was missing 2 of the rear value caps. All-in-all I suggest that people utilizing Magic Carpet specifically request not to use L&D Motorsports. I'm neither satisfied nor disappointed with Magic Carpets role in this transaction, because they are basically only a middle man, although I wish they would do something about ensuring the drivers they contract with are more reliable. I did not have any problems making my initial payment with Magic Carpet though. The staff(specifically Kathy) at Magic Carpet were helpful during the initial process.
