My experience with the company was fairly smooth. I was initially inclined to arrange my auto transport with Magic Carpet because of the awesome reviews they were recieving. My decision was reinforced and solidified when my moving company recommended them to me. My moving company made the inital contact with Magic Carpet to receive the quote ($970: from St. Louis, MO to San Jose, CA), which was competitive to, but slightly higher than, other quotes that I had received. My main reason for choosing Magic Carpet was based solely on their reviews and seemingly good reputation. At that point, I felt that the extra money was worth my peace of mind. And it was! The communication with my contact person was pleasant. She took the initiative to call me a few times when deadlines and my move were rapidly approaching. There was a bit of confusion the weekend of the transport: my move was initially contracted out to 2 different companies, and the one to contact me first said that they needed to pick-up my car 3 days before my scheduled move. The situation was quickly clarified. Another slight complaint/annoyance: poor communication/relationship between Magic Carpet and trucking company (Triple T). I was told that I would be notified at least 12-24 hrs before the pick-up, which did not occur. When I was not contacted, I called Magic Carpet to try to get status info. The Triple T rep/driver refused to give any info about the status of my pickup. It took a few hrs to get any sort of status update from the trucking company, but Magic Carpet rep did her best. In the end, my car was picked up and delivered safely. The bumpiness of the transaction came mainly from the trucking company. Dealings with Magic Carpet were pleasant and smooth.
