Bad, unethical business methods.
They gave me initial quote. Then next day followed up with we will match anyone elses quote.
I CALLed them told them i did have a cheaper - actually two quotes cheaper. she said fax them to her. I did. she emailed me an invoice stating that the move would be $ 900.the cheapest quote. I went ahead and scheduled the move with them. I wanted to keep the money in our state. She took my card for the necessary deposit . On the invoice it stated what the amount would be- minus the deposit and what amount was needed for the driver. I had talked to her since then. IN NONE OF THE TIME SINCE SHE EMAILED ME MAGIC CARPETS INVOICE TO THE TIME OF DELIVERY DID SHE SAY THE MOVE WOULD COST MORE. NEVER ONCE. The driver showed up with the vehicle telling me what i had to pay to release it. It was $85.00 more than the invoice. The move was now $985. Some say i shouldnt have paid the difference - because it shows I was ok by it. But i cant let them take back a car that i just paid for. It would cost me more to get it back. I was stuck.
i proceeded to call Magic the next day (delivery was on Sunday) to tell them they made a mistake they owe me $ 85.00 THEY SAID NO. THat was the price. I told them you said you matched quotes. She claimed she didnt get the fax. THEN WHY IN HEAVENS NAME WOULD THEY SEND ME AN INVOICE STATING IT WAS GOING TO BE $900.00 AND SHOWING THE BALANCE I OWED TO THE DRIVER IF THEY WERENT GOING TO FOLLOW THRU. I asked to talk to the supervisor. The super asked for me to send her the information. I re-sent her the $900. quote and the invoice that was sent to me by them. When i called the supervisor back- she made out to as thou she didnt even look at what i faxed her and she was going to stand behind her employee. The feeling i recieved was "The customer is of no importance and its not worth her time to review this paperwork". OH MY GOD! She was not going to help or do anything, it was over.
Why give/send people invoices stating what the price is - if you dont stand behind it. Incredible, unethical bad business. The credit card company wouldnt help either. They said i shouldnt have paid the amount over the quote. Its my own fault. They would not credit the difference. Magic knows how to slip thru the cracks of getting more money out of people. I say this is bad unethical business. If not the business then the two employees that allowed for this to happen.

Cheri if you are going to tell a story you should really tell the truth. Our policy is to match a lower price for only four days. We do not "LOW BALL" our pricing. We give you prices that gets your car moved. We match prices with the understanding that if they are not booked within 4 days we will start raising the price back up to the original price we quoted. This is what we did and Cheri was told about it. In auto shipping taking the lowest price is usually a bad idea.
