There's nothing "magical" about Magic Carpet

Last week, Magic Carpet contacted me with a quote of $225 for a pick-up and delivery date for the next day (Friday). Communication between myself and the rep placing my order was clear, understandable and reassuring that I had made a good decision going with this company however, after giving them the payment information and placing the order, the communication SUCKED. My representative, Kathy, was either "not available or out of the office" over an hour after she told me she'd be calling me back with a time frame for delivery. This was in addition to her no longer being certain of my delivery day when SHE was the one that sent me the quote and expected delivery date via email. Several calls and hours later, a rep named Greg explained that my car "should" be picked up on the original date given since it was something called a "short loop" route; one that is an easy run for a trucker. Well Friday came: no call, no car, and no answer for why my car was not picked up, or WHEN it would be. Instead, my call-in to the office was greeted w/ the idea that my original quote would potentially go UP, since the original one wasn't "appealing" to carriers...the same quote Magic Carpet gave me. Now as their "window period for delivery" of 1-5 business days nears to a close, Kathy- - nor any other rep in that "office" are certain of when my car will be picked up- - but they all seem certain that my quote will go up. So I put the pieces of this game they were playing together, thoroughly read their reviews and decided to cancel the order with Magic Carpet. They wasted my time...damn sure won't be wasting my money. They insisted that it will be the same scenario with other companies but within 30 minutes of calling other companies for quotes, that is NOT the case. I may have to pay another company more money but I'd rather do that, then pay Magic Carpet for more of the runaround. They were the lowest quote I received, and so was their service. Guess you really do get what you pay for.

After learning that Magic Carpet paid to be on this site (see Ratings and Reports), it's clear to me that the positive reviews they have, were written by themselves. And of course some rep (can't tell who b/c one minute Kathy is Kathy and the next she's not), will respond to this with some generic explanation of "how the industry works," but at the end of the day, the facts are the facts.

Julius, You were never told your car would be picked up the next day, It takes time to get get a carrier scheduled and I explained that to you and your girlfriend (which she called every 20 mins) We tried our best to get it done by Christmas but we at the mercy of the drivers.
