Such a scam!

I chose to use Magic Carpet because it seemed to have such great reviews on this website, but I soon realized that it was SUCH A SCAM. All of the five star ratings about Magic Carpet are not reliable and let me tell you why. I received an email from Magic Carpet saying that if I got an online quote, I would have an immediate $25 rebate. This seemed like a great deal but when I got my quote of $975 back, the $25 rebate didn't appear... so I called the company. I spoke to the manager and he told me he would give me the rebate. Then he offered me another deal- if I wrote on transport reviews and gave Magic Carpet a 5-star rating, then he would give me another instant $15 rebate. That's why this company has so many good ratings- they are essentially paying people who haven't even used their service yet to give them 5-stars.

Anyway, I called 3 weeks before my car needed to be shipped and 2 weeks later hadn't received an update. I got a bit worried and emailed the company. The next day, the vice president Lloyd called me back to tell me that the $950 quote he told me about didn't attract any carriers, and so now I would have to pay $1180. Oh but wait- he'll take $40 off of his own broker's fee to "help me out". What a scam! The company NEVER updated me in the two weeks of silence. Shouldn't a company with good customer service run it by the customer that they are advertising a $200 increase in price to the carriers? This was a 20% increase from the original quote. Although quotes are not set in stone, it is ridiculous that there is a 20% increase in what was estimated. Magic Carpet has terrible service.

Yan i apologize for the lack of communication as I was out of the office sick! but this company is no scam I explained from the beginning their are no guarantees in this industry so you knew that going on and you were on a very hard route.... we got your car dispatched and you agreed on the price then all of a sudden you think we scammed you.....I would have taken a hit to my broker fee if your car got picked up... and i was willing to take that hit for you cause the DRIVER WANTED MORE NOT ME! in this industry we are all ultimately at the mercy of the truck drivers.... I cannot help that they wanted more... I apologize that you think you were scammed.. you were not this is just how the transport industry works
