READ THIS. IT WILL BE VERY HELPFUL

The crew comes and looks at your car. They record anything that might even be a ding, dent, scratch in a very meticulous manner. My cars, in great shape each had loads of markings on their sheet. The reason is obviously so the car owner cannot identify any damage done.

I watched the pickup crew move my Saab with 28K up the ramp. The driver set the ramps at an angle that was clearly too steep for a car in reverse. The result: clouds of chemical smoke as he proceeded to damage my clutch. This did not discourage him, and he continued...right in front of me! The smell of the burnt clutch lingered in the air for the hour until they left, that is how bad it was. I imagined what kind of damage they would be capable of when nobody was watching.

I called Magic Carpet and told them about this, and called again after the cars came (btw, there was some additional damage to the bumper of my BMW). I said the car clearly was abused and this would result at some point in a need for a clutch much earlier than it should have needed the clutch. Clutches are expensive, but since it was not burnt out, I could not file a claim now...and something that happens in say a year can never be claimed as the responsibility of this gross mishandling.

Customer service said, "Well, if something was wrong, it would be a 'he said-she said.' That is a gross insult when I am watching the event unfold in front of me. This is a good indication of how a claim, no matter how warranted, would be treated by Magic Carpet.

Customer service also said that I should contact the actual transporters and complain. I hired magic Carpet, so telling me to go complain to a company that they- not I- -contracted, is also very wrong and bad business.

WOuld I use them again? Supposed so. All these companies are just schedulers who use 3rd party transporters to actually do the move.

MY ADVICE
Pray the people who drive your car do not cause any damage. If they do, you will likely twist in the wind.
