Driver was Lackluster at BEST

UPDATE: Lightning Auto Carriers has said in their rebuttal that they have offered us a partial refund. They have not done this. We have not heard from them in any way, shape, or form. We paid in cash, $800. We have not been contacted by this company offering us a partial refund. Additionally, when we posted this bad review, they attempted to say we were not their customer. This was FALSE, as we sent in proof that we were and you are reading this review.

When he picked up the car, the driver refused to drive down our street to meet us in front of our house. We were made to drive the car to the nearest major street, where the driver was parked in the median. We were the ONLY car on the carrier. Unlike what LAC says, there were no other vehicles on the carrier at pickup. I should note that a full-sized 18-wheeler was able to go up and down my street when we moved in. This should have not been a problem for this driver. Next, we asked for a receipt for him taking the car, and half of the payment. He initially refused to provide this for us, but did, very reluctantly, afterwards. The driver then said he would arrive at the destination in 6 days. The recipient of the car took the day off to be able to meet the driver, only for him to call on the day he was supposed to arrive to say he would be there the next day in the morning around 10am. So, the recipient took ANOTHER day off. 10am came and went. So did 11am, and 12pm. No word from the driver. Nothing. The recipient called the driver numerous times with no response. We, as the shippers of the car, had to call the dispatcher to find out when the car would be arriving. The driver said 2pm. 2pm came and went and no car. He finally arrived at 240pm. When he arrived, he refused to bring the car to the house. Never mind the streets are quite wide in the neighborhood and could easily accommodate the car carrier. So, the recipients of the car had to WALK several blocks away to get the car. Overall I wouldn't recommend this company to ship your vehicle. The people doing the bookings are friendly enough, but if this is the caliber of driver they contract with, it leaves a lot to be desired.

UPDATE: We have spoke to the driver and he confirmed he will refund a percentage of the transport even though he could not fit where they so they had to meet him a mile out where he can safley load and unload. The driver's story is a VERY different account than what was written by the customer.We are very sorry you were not happy with the way everything went. The size of these trucks limits were they can and can not go. This truck was 12 car trailer that was completely full adn could not go down a 1 lane road. In this industry there are delays such as weather and traffic that we can not control and may cause the driver to run late. Once again we are very sorry that you are not happy and we provide a refund even though the issues are not in are control. Lightning Auto Carriers.
