I used Rene Anthony at Global Transport Services to ship my son's car from college in Cincinnati to San Jose, California where he is doing an internship. I called Rene many times as I was a bit nervous about the process; Rene was always quick to respond and quickly answered all questions. The business model is that Global finds an independent trucker to pick up and deliver the car, and apparently investigates the trucker to make sure they are reliable. Once it was determined who the trucker was, all subsequent contact was with the trucker and no longer with Rene Anthony or Global. The trucker was excellent, I called him on the road several times to check progress and was always able to reach him, he arrived in California ahead of schedule and promptly delivered the car to my son's apartment once he reached San Jose. I would not hesitate to use Global Transport and Rene Anthony again. I liked that they only took $150 upfron and the remainder was payable to the trucker upon satisfactor delivery; I think that is a very customer friendly business model. I checked into a company owned by Federal Express, and they were charging almost $2,000 for the same service, so I think the price was fair.
