Damaged vehicle

My vehicle arrived late at it's destination. After it was dropped off, we noticed the vehicle was hard to steer (was not in that condition before driver accepted the vehicle). I had a licensed mechanic to conduct an inspection on my vehicle and he discovered the axial was broken. I contacted the original contract company, We Will Ship It. I attempted to explain the situation to the individual and he began to address me in a rude manner. He made it seem as though it was damaged before they accepted the vehicle. I informed him that I had the vehicle inspected from top to bottom by a mechanic before shipment and still had that paperwork. He continued to argue with me and eventually gave me the number for the insurance company I needed to contact. I contacted them and they stated that even if it was the transport company's fault, I would have to pay a $1600.00 deductible to get my car fixed. I advise people, don't ever use the companies Fast Track Auto Transport or We Will Ship It. They are rude and won't take any responsibility if they damage your vehicle.
