Deceptive, dishonest, non-responsive

I submiited a request in the second week of May, 2010 for quote for transport of my vehicle from Eureka, CA to Aiken, SC. I wanted the vehicle to be picked up around the July 4th weekend. Several companies contacted me and quotes ranged from $800 - $1100. Ben Davidson of Fairway Auto Transport called my cell phone and said he had a truck near Eureka and could pick up my vehicle within the following week. I gave him $175 on 18-May to execute the move. After one week and no vehicle pickup or contact from the drive, I called Ben but he did not return my call. After a few more messages to Ben, I called the customer service no. and spoke with Jonathan. Jonathan could not locate an agreement but did acknowledge receipt of the $175. I requested a refund. Jonathan apologized for their error and requested another chance to make good on their delivery proposal. On June 1st Jonathan emailed an agreement that listed pickup on July 2, 2010. I called Jonathan and expalined the only reason I selected Fairway is because they said they had a truck available immediately. Jonathan advised to cross-out the date and that he would arrange for immediate pickup. I waited two more weeks and called again. Jonathan said my agreement was for July 2nd. I agreed to July 2nd which came and went. The next phone call placed to Jonathan he said he would never have agreed to a July 2nd pickup because it was a holiday weekend. I requested a full refund and he said it would take 1 - 3 days. After five days I called him and he said the agreement states two weeks for a refund. After two more weeks I called him again and he said he would contact billing. I gave up on Jonathan and called Paypal, who said sincethe initial transaction was over 45-days old investigation would be a low priority for them. I called Discover and Discover credited my account. As late as August Discover advised that they had not received any response to their inquiry to Fairway.
Both Ben Davidson and Jonathan lied about their ability to move the vehicle. Ben never returned any calls. Jonathan took my phone calls but did absolutely nothing to resolve the issues, nor took any action to return my money. I believe he never intended to move my vehicle and was only interested in collecting his fee. Neither Ben nor Jonathan has any business integrity.
