Complete disgrace

This company is a disgrace. I contracted with them and a local affiliated transport company to ship a sofa from New Mexico to New York. I paid the shipping cost and was given a pick up date but they never showed up. After several reminders and several unkept pick-up dates, I hired at my own expense a local delivery man to deliver it to the local company. It sat there for a couple of weeks and was eventually transported to their main hub in Albuquerque. It eventually made it to New York more than a month after it had been given to them. A delivery date was set but on the said date, the delivery men refused to bring it inside the building 'because of Covid' and dumped it on the pavement in Manhattan. The top and sides of the sofa/packaging did not show any visible sign of damage so a clean release was signed. However once the movers left and the recipient moved it with the help of the doorman, it became clear that the packaging under the sofa had been badly damaged. Upon unpacking, it was found that the underside of the sofa had been crushed and two legs had been ripped (one was lost). I contacted Estes within minutes of the driver leaving and my being informed of the damage, was bounced back from one department to the other, was asked to submit multiple forms and pictures. Having not had any reply from them after several days, I was told my claim could not be considered until I submitted a repair invoice. When the sofa was eventually repaired and the invoice submitted, my claim was denied because 'no damage had been reported at the time of delivery'. Words fail me to express my disgust. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!
