Not too crazy about the dashboard

I needed to move a car from Easton, PA to Atlanta, GA. I selected EZ Car Move because they were the cheapest. I received quotes as high as $900 but EZ Car was the lowest at only $525. EZ Car uses a web based dash board to communicate. If you are comfortable interacting with the dashboard only, and are able to trust that something is actually happening in the background, you will really like their service. Their website answers all the questions you would ever want to ask, but it would be nice to hear a reassuring voice about the status of your move. I guess I should have been willing to pay $300 more for that voice. (smile)

Anyway....I ordered this service on Dec 27th with a requested pick up from Dec 29th to Jan 3rd. The car wasn't booked until Jan 5th, and I didn't get any communication until Jan 3rd that pickup was delayed. It was another competitor that called requesting my business and told me that Christmas is a difficult time of year to find drivers moving cars. I never heard anything from EZ Car about this potential delay. It would have been nice to get a call or even an e-mail explaining the delay.

Fortunately, there wasn't an urgent need to get the car to Atlanta by a specific date., and I remained patient. The car was picked up on Jan 6th and delivered on Jan 9th. The car was delayed a day and covered in salt spray. The drive communicated the delay due to a family emergency. I would definitely use them again because of EZ Car's low cost, but more communication would be helpful. I think a daily update on the dashboard regarding status would have been helpful.
