So Close, Yet So Far...

First, the good: My vehicle arrived undamaged. The people at Door-to-Door were very nice (when I could reach them). The driver was professional. The price was right (neither cheapest nor most expensive).

This could have been a truly outstanding experience. However:
1) I dropped the vehicle off on a Tuesday with the promise that it would be delivered by Saturday. At the origin, that meant renting a car until my flight on Friday. They vehicle was not picked up by the driver until Friday. That means I could have used my own car all week, and instead I wasted $250 on a rental at origin.

2) Because of the late pickup, the vehicle was delivered the following Tuesday instead of Saturday. In fact, when the pickup was late Lola said it would be delivered Monday at the latest. That meant I needed a rental at the destination. Another $90 wasted, which turned into $120 when Monday was also missed.

3) Lola had said the driver would be happy to deliver the vehicle downtown, where I work. He would not do so. That cost me an hour on the second day of my new job to run home, take delivery, and drive back to work. It also meant I could not return the rental on time downtown as planned, which cost me another $40.

4) All communication was initiated by me. If I didn't call and leave a message, no one called me to provide status. Not at dropoff. Not at pickup. Not during transport.

I really want to recommend these guys. They try hard, and they did deliver the vehicle in good shape. But the lack of coordination and communication is disturbing. Overall, I have to just rate them average.
