My elderly mother needed a car. I did some shopping and found an older, lightly used small sedan for her. I was unable to drive it up so I sought out some online shipping quotes, sticking to companies in the 360 (destination) area code. After sorting through dozens upon dozens of emails from brokers from Florida, New York, and New Jersey quoting prices 50% higher, I settled on and contacted Domestic Auto Transport. After a couple of initial emails DAT called me and we set up a pick-up. I have a crazy work schedule and my residence is a bit off the beat path. I told DAT I could take the car to a more freeway friendly area if needed and if the driver called in the AM, I could be anywhere by afternoon. We also discussed that my routing of transport wasn't the most common and I understood it may take a few days to find a truck that could get my car where I wanted it to go. Four days later DAT called and said a truck would be available the next day. We set an evening meeting time. The driver called and I steered him to an area near several car dealerships where i knew he would have space to load the car. From meeting the driver, handing the keys, and filling out a couple of forms the car was loaded and on the way, delivered as promised two days later. Everyone involved was professional and courteous and I feel I got a good value for the service received. If I ever ship another car, I know who to call.

Advice, take the time to price shop, TALK to the broker and shipper, have realistic expectations.
