Problems with Carrier

In the end, I got my car transported from Portland to Los Angeles. However, I was *very* upset with the way my delivery was handled. The carrier tried to scam me out of $400 in-cash payment when he delivered my car. I had already paid the full price ($731) for door-to-door delivery, yet he claimed that there was an extra fee. Either, his superiors didn't communicate to him that the car was completely paid, or he was trying to take advantage of me as a young, female customer. I communicated with the carrier over the phone and he was very condescending - calling me "sweetheart" and telling me "this is how it works" - when really I knew I had paid what I was supposed to pay. It was also frustrating to be dealing with this type of issue from the other side of the country. I was on the east coast at the time of my delivery because the order went through two days early. My designated person who was going to sign for the car had to call me at ~11pm EST. At which point, I had to call the carrier and try to get him to understand that I had already paid! Unlike my conversations over the phone with Direct Connect employees, specifically Anthony G, the man/carrier who delivered my car was unprofessional. Also, when I tried to call Direct Connect to sort out this issue, I only got their voicemail because it was after business hours.

I'm grateful that I did eventually sort out this problem and get my car, but it was a huge hassle that could've easily been avoided with clearer lines of communication.
