I had two vehicles shipped together: a 1998 BMW 528i (DAS id #41184550) and a 2004 BMW 325i (DAS id # 41184552). They went from the same source to the same destination, presumably travelling together.

DAS was paid to transport these vehicles on the top level of the carrier, ostensibly to keep the cars cleaner. The 528i arrived so filthy it was not drivable: I had to hang my head out the driver door window to get to the nearest gas station, where I spent 10 minutes squeegee'ing my windows clean.

It gets worse.

Both vehicles had multiple thefts. Both vehicles had their radar detector stolen (something which, from what I gather, is extremely common with DAS). The radar detectors were in the vehicles' gloveboxes. In opening the 528i's glovebox, Dependable Auto Shippers' employees ripped it from my vehicles dashboard. My 528i's glovebox will not close now.

Everything else in the 528i's glovebox was stolen. This includes:
- radar detector ($230)
- faculty/staff parking permit for Rutgers university ($30)
- California vehicle registration paperwork
- mounting equipment and cabling for the vehicle's CB radio
- NY state E-Zpass transponder
- from-the-factory BMW flashlight ($36)
- from-the-factory BMW cassette deck cleaner
- from-the-factory BMW leather document holder
- from-the-factor BMW vehicle manual
- original purchase receipt & invoice for the vehicle

It gets worse still.

The 528i has/had a car stereo. It consisted of two 10inch subwoofers mounted to the rear deck of the car, a Phoenix Gold amplifier, and upgraded speakers and woofers throughout the car. Dependable Auto Shippers' employees attempted to steal this car stereo system (specifically, they tried to steal the Phoenix Gold amplifier). In doing so, they ripped apart the 528i's trunk, cut or stretched multiple cables, and ruined the car stereo to the point it will no longer turn on. From what I can tell, they were stopped from stealing the amplifier by their inability to cut the 12awg power cabling bolted to it. In carrying out this attempted theft, Dependable Auto Shippers' employees broke open the BMW toolkit in my vehicles' trunk (presumably looking for cable cutters). They broke the bolt which holds this toolkit shut- the toolkit is now opened permanently.
