I shipped an SUV from NY to UT. I had a very tight delivery window on the receiving end since I would only be in Utah for a few days. Tom Henderson worked with me to find a carrier who could accomodate my schedule. He gave me a 2 day window on either end of the shipment. In NY, the pick up was very smooth. The driver called me the night before and was at my house exactly on time and took about 20 minutes to fill out paperwork and load the car on the truck. The car did go to a terminal in NJ, and although I wasn't told this would happen, I didn't really care since my priority was to have the car delivered during a 2 day window. Personally, if the car I'm shipping isn't a classic or brand new and I'm not paying for a closed carrier, I have no problem with the car being taken to a terminal en route. I spoke with Tom during the week to confirm it would arrive in Utah on time. The driver called me when he was 2 -3 days away. Unfortunately, he was running ahead of schedule and planned to be in Utah a day before I would (this was something Tom and I discussed as a possibility). I arranged for a friend to accept delivery and I paid the balance on a credit card (which the driver suggested) through the driver's company. This was much easier than trying to get cash to my friend. The driver was able to give my friend an accurate arrival time and delivery went smoothly. The car arrived in Utah safely with no damage. Everyone involved was professional and friendly. I would definitely use this company again. Since many of the reviews on this company are negative, I was very skeptical about using them. I called several other companies with great reviews but this was the only company that was able to work around my constraints and seemed to really want to make this work. I did some research, to make myself feel better in selecting this company, by calling Gateway Classic Cars which was referenced in another review. They told me that they do business with Cross Country frequently and highly recommended them. I highly recommend them as well.
