I'm a junior at the University of Notre Dame, and this is the first year I've brought a car to school here. I had just bought it over the summer, so I was especially worried about transporting it so far away. After researching several companies, I chose Autozipper mainly because the first person to pick up on the other end of the line was Brian Cronin, the company's owner...it's just not every day that you get such personal service. I immediately felt comfortable, and Brian was very knowledgeable and professional. This was at the beginning of July. I had planned to ship my car in August, so when I asked if the prices increased throughout the summer, Brian said yes, but that if I reminded him of my July quote, he'd uphold that price instead. And he did. It was $890 flat, except for the driver tip I voluntarily added.
I also valued the fact that everything was included in that one quote Brian had given me: the type of carrier, the insurance, the door to door pickup and drop off, etc. A lot of other companies try to capitalize on these "options" by charging separate fees for each, which I think is rather unfair to the customer (e.g. an extra fee for insurance...ridiculous).
Every other part of the transaction went smoothly, from the pickup to the drop off. I called Brian once for an update on my car while it was in transit, and he contacted the driver for me and called me back in about 15 minutes. I also put about 90 lbs of personal items in the trunk, and nothing was touched as far as I could tell, and as far as it matters.
So in my opinion, I definitely recommend Autozipper. I still have 3 more moves to and from CA, so I'll be using their services from now on.
