Possible rip off in progress... I will post the outcome

I MAY be in the process of being screwed out of $600 by Auto Cars Transport. If they do the right thing and find a shipper, I will post that outcome and revoke this review. So far.. here is the scenario:

Carol quotes the shipment for 4 cars from California to Indiana at $2500. She tells me that there is a 2-day pick-up window. She takes the Credit Card for $600, THEN asks me to initial the quote/contract. Like MANY of you.. I've NEVER shipped a vehicle before.. so all I can do is rely on the information that Carol gives me.

Late in the day of the scheduled pickup I call Carol to find out where the drivers are... she refers me to Tom (Customer Service). Tom says that "no one will take the job at that price"... so they might have to increase the price to attract a Transporter!! He CANNOT confirm when or IF the cars will ever be transported. Meanwhile they have my $600 and Tom makes a point that this $600 is "non-refundable". That's where things stand right now.

I'm going to stop here. They are only 1 day late (so far)... if Tom and Carol make this right... I'll gladly amend my review and apologize for jumping to conclusions (or re-post a positive review)... but SO FAR... this is looking like the rip-off has been covered in many other posts on this site.

Stay tuned....

Ed, first of all we NEVER said no one will take the job for the quoted rate. We said no one had yet. What everyone reading this NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND is that every company you speak to is a broker. We all ESTIMATE the rate a carrier will accept. Then if you book with that company they seek a carrier for the job. We do an above average job at estimating the going rate. However no one is perfect. Just as the price of a stock or future can change in a day, the going rate to move a vehicle can also change in a day. What you should be wary of is any company that tells you otherwise.
