Car picked up on 1/24/11 and went to their facility. I was told it would leave for Florida on 1/25/11 and delivery would be by 1/27/11 or 1/28/11. I did not receive my vehicle by the date promised. Day after day I called to speak with Carrie White (she must be related to owner because you never get to speak to any one else and her uncaring disregard and rudeness I would think would never be tolerated by any one other her own family.
So I continued to call each and every day to see when I might expect my car. Each and every day Carrie would say, within two days you should get it. She knew the vehicle was no way getting to me by the time she specified, but she continued to play the game each day that I called.
One of the days I called she again said "Oh you should have it in a couple of days the driver is in Florida, Oh and by the way, your rag top flew off your vehicle."
I was so upset at that point and how UNSYMPATHETIC Carrie White was. She really could care less about my vehicle. Our car is a 1995 caddy eldorado, in excellent shape and the top was no way damaged prior to leaving our house. My husband even took before pictures of the car both in side and out.
Another day came and I called Carrie again, only to hear that instead of coming to drop off my vehicle, the driver went to the west coast of Florida to drop cars off, then went down to Miami, then to Fort Lauderdale and then he would travel north to where I was in Florida. The driver finally called me on Friday 2/4/11 to tell me that he lives an hour south of where I live and could he please deliver the car on Saturday because he wanted to go home, shower and relax. I received my car at 1PM on Saturday 2/5/11.
When he drove it off of the transport I was so upset because of the top. When I questioned him about the top coming off, his reply was "Oh so many rag tops come off during transport" Wow that made me feel real good. If Apple and the driver knew this (after all they are the professionals, Ha, Ha,) then they have an obligation to tell the consumer. The consumer can then decide for themselves what to do. May be secure the canvas top, may be not ship it at all.
I asked Carrie to send me an incident report so that I can submit the claim to their insurance company. I sent Apple everything they asked for plus pictures of before they picked up the car. I know that any damage not caused by the transporter's negliance is not covered. Transporters only cover damage that is neglect through their drivers. Well I think Apple and the driver were negligent by not informing the consumer what might happen during transport.
I called Carrie to make sure that she received my damage report. She told me that she had and she would be sending me out a letter. I asked her what the letter was all about. She told me that she would not send the damage report to their insurance company because my estimate was for $1300 and her deductible was much higher. She said it would all be explained in the letter. I then said Carrie you are not even going to offer me any thing for my damage, is that correct? She would not answer me, only saying, that she will send me a letter. I then told her she was the rudest person I have ever come in contact with and that she lied to me over and over and over just enough to satisfy me each and every time I asked her, "WHERE IS MY CAR" She then said she no longer wished to speak to me and hung up. I have not heard from her since, and I never did get that letter. I also want to add that I was not paid by my own insurance company for this incident. This transport ended up coming us $2000.
Of coarse I would NEVER RECOMMEND APPLE TRANSPORT!!!!!!!!!!! And shame on me for not reading about them prior to shipping
BUYER BEWARE PLEASE!!!!!!!!
