One bright spot in a shady industry

I started out looking for a shipper by using one of those free referral sites. I was immediately bombarded by e-mails, phone calls, text messages (really, if they offer you a "disposable" e-mail and phone number for six bucks, take it!). Dozens and dozens. Prices all over the place. I was clueless about how this industry worked and I was in for a rude surprise.

I ended up working with another company based on a referral. Their price was in the middle of the pack. Lots and lots of promises, lots of missed dates. Basically, I was being strung along endlessly. I also found out that company had listed the job for $150 more than their "estimate" to me so if they had found a shipper I would have been in for a rude surprise. I also found out they have an F rating with the BBB (which many of these brokers do!).

Fed up, I started reading reviews on here. I found Mitch Chencin at American Car Transporters and gave him a call. Voice mail; I didn't even leave a message. Five minutes later, Mitch calls me back and introduces himself. He could not have been more helpful. No crazy promises, just action. In less than sixty minutes, he had a driver confirmed and I had the driver's name and phone number. The car was picked up that afternoon and was dropped off at 6AM the next morning. The driver was friendly and helpful. The price was exactly what Mitch said it would be.

After wasting lots of time and energy on lots of pretenders, it was a HUGE relief to find Mitch. I would recommend him without reservation. He took my situation seriously, acted quickly, and delivered on all of his promises.
