Pushy lying salespeople & awful customer service

Rev. John Reutemann Submitted this review about American Auto Transport (FL)

I'm a military chaplain, was just transferred, and was en route to new assignment when I had car trouble and needed to get a rental and leave my car behind to be repaired. I totally understand that the route I needed my car to be transported was not a common one (WI to MT), but I was told by Will at AAT (FL) that their own trucks do that very route twice a week, and so even if they couldn't broker out my job, they could do it themselves. They quoted me $950, which was neither the cheapest not the most expensive of all quotes I received, which is part of the reason why I went with them. My car was supposed to be picked up no later than last Friday, 13 Dec, and be arriving no later than this past Monday, 16 Dec. It has still not been picked up. I left messages on that Friday and Monday, asking why the car hadn't been picked up yet, and the messages weren't returned until Tuesday. Jessica, from customer service, not-so-nicely explained that they are not bound by any dates according to the contract, that I just need to wait, that she had no further info, and that she would call me as soon as she had an update, even be it just that a driver had been assigned. She has yet to call back. I am happy to remove this review should the company rectify the situation, but they have yet to give any indication that they are willing to do so.
