Shipping car-overall experience

Trying to choose a shipping company and understanding the broker/carrier relationship was a bit overwhelming. I was inclined towards American Auto Shipping because I received a clear and friendly voicemail from one of the brokers, Alyssa. She was personable and not scripted. She was knowledgeable and answered my questions and concerns. She even corrected a problem caused by a different broker at the same company. (thus the 4 stars to American Auto, but 5 stars for Alyssa). The issue that had occurred was I received an email from American Auto stating: "Payment has been received", when in fact I had not authorized any payment. I HAD started the order process online so that I could read the Terms, which I did, WITHOUT clicking the "Agree: box. And I did not provide any type of payment method. I was immediately concerned. The email was not from Alyssa, but from American Auto with no specific broker. I immediately called Alyssa, she got back to me soon after and looked into it, and spoke with a supervisor, and identified the broker who incorrectly started processing it. It sounds like he was dealt with. She corrected any "authorized" payment, noting also that I had not provided any payment method, so in reality, nothing was charged. She also lowered the quote a bit more. I was very pleased with how she assisted and was very clear. I also felt comfortable with American Auto as I read some of their online articles regarding how payment to brokers and carriers is typically handled in this business. I also felt good regarding their reviews. To note, American Auto then locates a company that can ship the car. I was then assigned a carrier, with a dispatch person and the driver's info. I was able to communicate with the company dispatch and driver. Meanwhile, Alyssa from American Auto remained available "behind the scenes" as needed. She was a steady assurance to make sure all was well, communicating via text quickly with any questions I may have had. Yes, it worked. The price she quoted me was the price I paid. It should be noted, it is necessary to show patience with the pickup and delivery as it should not be expected to run like an airline. Flexibility is need for the carrier. Thank you, Alyssa!
