My AmeriFreight representative was very polite, professional, and responsive whenever I had questions or concerns. She also followed up on her own routinely. Vehicle was picked up and delivered with no issues, by professional and trustworthy carriers. However, I recommend that the car shipment process be more thoroughly explained to customers, i.e. how the bidding process for sourcing a carrier works. I was not aware of how the process actually worked, otherwise I would have changed my time table to ensure that my vehicle was shipped at, or at least close to, the eventual final cost for the shipment. I was told up front that AmeriFreight would be able to successfully secure a carrier for approximately $850, and on the timetable I provided. However, by the time I couldn't wait any longer to secure a carrier before moving out of CA, our bid was supposedly significantly too low to be competitive, and I ended up paying more than DOUBLE the original quote (over $1700!)...At that rate, I would have just sold my car instead of paying about 15-20% of the car's value just to ship it. If the process would have been explained to me better, I would have been open to shipping the car a lot sooner in order to get a better rate. Still a competent company with solid customer service.
