I had a nightmare. I needed to send my daughter her car after she moved to Salt lake. I surfed the net and found several auto moving companies. I called several to try to find a human to talk to . I finally found a company that told me a very low price that I was happy with. They promised to pick the car up in 3 days. Not only did they not pick it up they stopped returning my repeated calls and emails. It was crazy and I kept threatening them on the voice mail that I wanted to cancel my order etc. Finally I called another company and had virtually the same experience. I called and third company who referred me to the transport review website. I looked for carriers and not brokers. I found Alpine and called and told my story to the receptionist. She immediatley put me on the phone with someone named Mike. Mike told me the price I received was to low and that he was sorry I had been run around. He offered to help and told me he would call me back. He called back in 5 minutes and said my car would be picked up in 4 days. it was picked up in 2 or 3 days and he didn't ask to be paid until it was delivered. The integrity and helpfulness of a complete stranger was great. When my daughter got the car I called Mike to arrange payment before he called me! I later learned that Mike is the owner of Alpine. And that says it all. If the owner operates like that so will his employees. If the owner is a jerk that doesn't care about the customers so will his employees. I have never shipped a car before and may never again. I wish I needed it all the time!
