The car was transported by Coast-to-Coast Auto Transport, and the driver was Paul Russell.
It was important that the car arrive in Boise, ID on or before May 27. We were told that the earliest pick-up date would be May 19 but that was later changed to May 20. The car was picked up on May 22. The company did not keep us well informed of the delay, which they said was beyond their control, so I kept calling them. The dispatcher did try to give me accurate information. The driver called me on his cell phone about an hour before arriving and we agreed on a place to meet.

The driver was obviously experienced and pleasant, and his car carrier was in excellent condition. He thoroughly inspected the car, noting all scratches. He assured us that he would get to Boise by May 27, and gave me directions on where the car would be stored and how to get in touch with him as he lived in Boise.

He did arrive as promised, and the car was undamaged except for a small scratch on the right rear door. This wasn't noticed until after the car had been picked up, but was minor and no attempt has been made to pursue a claim.

We received five bids to transport the car from Silver Spring, MD to McCall, ID. The cheapest was $995 plus a to-be-determined fuel surcharge; three were for $1095 and the other was $1195, so we went with the most expensive bid. The reason was that this was the only company that identified itself with more than a phone number. Also, the others all said they would transport the car to McCall, which is a small down in the Sawtooth Mountains accessible only by a narrow, winding road. Coast-to-Coast was the only company that realized that it would not be possible for a car carrier to reach McCall and suggested we pick the car up in Boise. For this reason, we
felt they were the most trustworthy. All-in-all, I would say that this was the case.
