We contracted with ACD transport to pick-up and deliver (March 2011) a 1988 Corvette Convertible we purchased from a seller in Pompano Beach, FL. They then contracted with Coast to Coast Transportation Services for the actual pick-up and delivery. The day the vehicle was to be delivered, the dispatcher from Coast to Coast called my husband while the driver was enroute to our house, asking if they could deliver the vehicle at night. My husband said yes but not after 11:00pm. 11:00 o'clock came and went, so he called the dispatcher and told him to cancel until the next morning. The dispatcher said that would be better because the driver had his rig "stuck under a bridge". The next morning after going on a wild goose chase to find what truck stop they were holed-up, my husband finally found them at a Pilot truck stop off-loading the vehicle. He pulled up and asked them what they were doing. They said that he could drive the vehicle to our house, that it was perfectly legal to drive it up to 11 miles (without plates, a registration, ownership papers, etc.)

This is where the real fun begins. The car had been markedly damaged including, a twisted frame, torn convertible top (the top was brand new), smashed tailpipes, cracked windshield, etc. The driver wanted him to take possession right then and there! He said no, I paid for door-to-door service and that's what I expect. Meanwhile, my husband called our mechanic to meet him at our house to inspect the car. He determined the frame was bent and probably totaled. The driver told my husband they tried to navigate a bridge and the trailer got stuck in a storm drain, requiring them to call a tow truck. They said their GPS told them to go down this road (Person Road). My husband tried to get the driver's cell phone number the prior evening, so he could assist him in getting to our house. We have had many vehicles delivered from all over the United States and the dispatcher always gives us the driver's number in case they get lost, are running late, etc.

We contacted Coast to Coast Transportation to process an insurance claim for the extensive damage. An adjuster came out to our house, gave us an adjustment price and we promptly replied in writing to accept. Since that time (March 2011) we have been told it was not the driver's fault, it was the fault of the tow truck driver, and they would not honor their contract to pay for damages. We have had the worst run-around with ACD Transport, Coast to Coast Transportation, Curley Adjustment Bureau, ARM, and all the insurance agencies involved and believe me there are too many to mention! Stay away from all of these companies or you will be on the receiving end of a royal screw-up and out thousands of dollars!!! I cannot express it enough!!!!

As an amendment: (December 2011) We finally received judgment against these parties in court.Apparently they lied about being fully insured. You can't sue an insurance company so when a transport company says they have insurance and signs a contract stating so, BEWARE because it doesn't matter, they can still screw you. We did, however received a third of the vehicle's value from a salvage company, but we are still waiting for the rest of our money.

There may be people out there that have fantastic service from ACD Transport, but it is our experience that makes this company, A REAL BAD CHOICE!! LET THE BUYER BEWARE!!!
