First time shipper, and after calling a few places I started to have a very bad feeling about this whole business all together. It seems like everyone is bad mouthing each other and claims that they have the lowest price. A few salesman from different companies even told me that if I was to go with a cheaper company, I will not see my car shipped and I maybe a victim of a scandal. I found it almost like a harassment. I stood my course and finally found a service I can trust.

Bruce from AAALL State Auto contacted me via email with a quote of $750, one of the lowest compare to the 20 quotes I get from others ranging from $790 to $950. I called him back asking for some details, and to my surprise he was very honest with me and explained how the operation runs in detail, the whole "broker" and "carrier" deal and how it works. I was satisfied with his sales pitch and told him I will call him back. I called a few other places and found the sales persons are difficult to deal with and not trustworthy. I called Bruce back to move the deal forward. He emailed me the contract and I signed and emailed back, the $750 breaks down to $150 for the broker and $600 for the carrier. The $150 will be deducted from my credit card after the car has been picked up and $600 would be cash to the driver when the vehicle arrives. Bruce guaranteed that no money will be deducted from my credit card until the vehicle was picked up and I can cancel at any time as long as it is before they dispatch the truck. In fact, my credit card was not charged until the vehicle arrived. I also requested no pick-up before 7:30 pm since my friend who is helping me to ship the car has to work during the day, and Bruce said that they can do that too.

The driver from P.A. united called my friend the next day to schedule a pick up on the same day, and we agreed. But later he called back saying that he would like to pick up another vehicle in Portland and asked if he could pick up the car on Thursday instead. Since we were not in a hurry, we agreed. The driver was nice and friendly. The car was picked up on Thursday on time (7:30pm) and it arrived Sunday morning at 10am. The driver unloaded the car in front of my house and took $600 cash.

The transaction was smooth and I am glad I shopped around before deciding.

To me, I really don't see how all these broker companies can claim that their service is better than the other, because they don't even deal with your vehicles. The carriers are what's important, they are the ones who actually ship your car. While I understand different brokers may have some specific sets of carriers they deal with, I still don't feel it is that relevant. As far as I know, everyone just goes onto http://www.centraldispatch.com/ and bids. Still, I think AAAll State Auto did a great job on explaining to me what is happening and I am very satisfied with their service.
