NIGHTMARE with carrier THREATENS TO LEAVE TRUCK

Berthoid Fair Deal Transportation, contracted through aaallstates auto (Larry).

The truck was listed as inoperable, they started it anyway. They also knocked a tire off the rim. My friend where they picked it up said they went to Home Depot to get a strap, then just gave up and started it, he ran out and made them turn it off and saw the tire damage. I called Larry from AAALSTATES who never called me back. I called owner of Berthoid who first denied starting the truck and knocking the tire off then told me if I gave him any problems he would drop it in Denver and store it and I could pay storage and find someone else, or he'd just drop it off somewhere.

He told me I was negligent by not writing DO NOT START (you kidding me?) on windshield, even though it was on the papers as an inoperable vehicle. The fan belt broke and knocked the radiator hose off, so I paid extra for an inoperable since I didn't want someone to run it and overheat it. Berthoid said it could be started and they started inop's all the time, I said then you buy the new engine if your guys burn it up. He said I'm not dealing with you, I'll drop the truck off and good luck finding someone else.

I had to calm him down, he threatened many times to just drop the tuck off in Denver I told him there was no problem as long as my truck came back in same shape it was in when picked up. He told me if I give his driver any trouble that he didn't care about the money and they would take truck back to Salt Lake and leave it. "You just talked yourself out of a truck" was said at more than one point. He seemed to want a pat on the back for putting my tire back on. Truck was almost impossible to unload since it was loaded wrong to begin with. Delivered at night, I haven't been over it yet for damage but crossed out "accepted as is" on bill of lading, I can see the new dent in the driver's door however.

I really do not believe this person has a bad review for us, as the trucker is the one that gave them the problems, as you know this is not anything we can control, however he did have a comment about not returning a phone call, we have been having issues with our phone system which is also nothing I can control. I do respond to my customers when I get a message from them.
