After putting in an order for my car 2 1/2 weeks before I moved to Colorado from Alabama, I had lost my mind. Here I was in a new state, approx. 1400 miles away with no car. Every time I called the people(magic carpet) they would tell me that "no drivers were going that direction" so they upped the price to get more drivers attention. What I later learned is that all they did was up the real price listed on the dispatch board by a small amount, and their deposit is enormous. Like 250 dollars or something.

I then tried another service which I don't even remember the name of and they also grifted me. Then one SATURDAY AFTERNOON I just couldn't rest knowing my car, which you learn you rely on for almost everything, was out of my reach/control. I put in another req for quotes and got one from 5starnationwide.com. I figured it would be at LEAST until monday before I heard anything.

Gilbert from 5star called me back within 2 hours of contacting him and gave me the skinny on this industry. It's a cut throat, dishonest, shady one at that. He charged me THE SAME AMOUNT I WAS GOING TO PAY my second transport broker, forget the name, but he actually made it happen. My car was picked up TWO DAYS LATER. TWO. That means the following monday. The driver was very professional and courteous to both me and the party on the other end. My car was dirty as hell when it got here, but it was open container and I knew exactly what I was getting into. Everything washed off and it's fine. If you want a clean car, go closed container and pay the difference if it matters that much.

My car was supposed to arrive that saturday, after being picked up monday. It got to CO from AL on Friday morning. Early.

If I -EVER- have anything to do with car shipping in any capacity it will be through this brokerage firm and no one else. Gilbert is extremely honest about the process, tells you to always ask the "deposit amount"(brokerage fee, for them it is always 100 dollars), and it straight with you and they work from home, and often.

This was a hellacious experience for me because of what I had to go through to get my car. Having read reviews from this site I thought I could rely on what people say, but you get a FIFTY DOLLAR DISCOUNT if you write a good review with some brokerages. That is downright wrong.

If you're street smart, a salesman, or any kind of person that deals with people on a personal level with business transactions and you think you have a hold on everything and know it all, think again.

This industry is plain and simple buy for one sell for two, only some people are trying to sell for three, four, or five, and lie to you about it.

This company tells you up front what they are going to do.
