This is the first time I had the need to have a vehicle shipped. I did not know much about the “how to ship a vehicle” except from reading reviews, some on line research, and a co-worker’s recent experience.

After getting several quotes from many companies, I then look at reviews at transportreviews.com.

I first went with broker A. They stated that they will price match any other broker with a 4-5 star rating from transportreviews.com. I did have a lower estimate from a 4-5 rated broker and they stated that will match the price. I then selected broker A. During the first week I would have not had any communication at all if it was not for me calling them. Only in the second week, after the price match price expired, did they talk with me about my vehicle size and information. After a couple days after that, I decided to find another company since they had no progress.

I then went with broker/carrier B. Broker B was honest and spoke from a driver’s point of view. To me that was a good thing. Broker B did communicate with me during the process and I appreciated that. Broker B attempted to find a carrier for me but was unable to locate anyone after a couple of days. They let me know that they did not find any interested carriers. I knew with the ongoing winter storms where the vehicle was, that it was going to be an uphill battle to find a carrier in a decent amount of time. I thanked them but then I went to find another broker.

I then went with 360 Auto Transport. I spoke with and dealt with Pete Wellensiek. He stated that he would find a carrier for me and not just post it on a board as other brokers. The price was a little higher than the two previous brokers with whom I had no luck in getting my vehicle shipped. Pete contacted me a couple days later advising me that he has a carrier. He then called me a little bit later the same day stating that the vehicle will be picked up sooner than stated in the earlier call, which is great since I have been waiting for the vehicle to be picked up for weeks and have through the two previous brokers. Pete advised me I could contact him if I wish to get an update on the location of the vehicle while in transport, which I did not do. I was just grateful that the vehicle was picked up. I was advised that the delivery day would be on a Thursday or on Friday depending on the weather. The driver called me Wednesday night around 9pm stating that he was near the area and asked if I wanted the vehicle that night or next morning. I had him deliver that night, it worked best for him and I. The vehicle was dirty upon arrival but that was to be expected because it traveled through the winter storm that hit the north east.

As stated in other reviews, if the price is too low it will not be picked up. The broker gets a part of the money and the driver gets the rest. If the price is too low and the broker takes their fee, there is not enough money in it for the driver.

Another obstacle for my vehicle shipping experience was that the vehicle was in New Jersey during the winter storms that were causing major issues in the North East.

Hopefully I do not need to transport anymore vehicles for a while, but if I do, I know who to contact.
