I know there are usually 2 sides to every story. Well, I have both sides all on my own.
I had a car in South Carolina that I needed shipped to California. I had a broker company working for me but after 3 weeks of no action ( they lowballed the quote and no carriers would pick it up ) I decided to find another broker to get this car picked up.
Mike Falco from 1 Flatrate contacts me and he is great, told me what the deal was with my car and why it wasn't picked up yet. He explained where I really needed to be price point wise to get things going.
I went with 1 flat rate and sure enough my car was picked up ( US Rider ) in 3 days and on it's way.
The following week my car arrives.
Now, I talked to Brian the driver on the morning of the drop off day and told him that there was more than enough room for his truck on my street, so coming directly to my address was not a problem. A neighbour had had a car picked up by a carrier in the same street with no problems a few weeks earlier. He said he would be delivering between 4:30 and 5 pm.
He calls me at 5:30 and says he's down the road in the target carlot because he can't come down residential streets. ( don't know how he picked up my car then, since it was on a residential street)
I get down to Target and he not in the lot but parked around the back of building in the dark with my already off the truck.
It was flithy which was not unexpected because I knew the trailer was open, I walked around the car to inspect it as best I could. I didn't notice any new dents or anything so I paid him and brought my car home.
The next morning when I can see my car in the light for the first time I realized why it was delivered in the dark. The paint in the centre of the rear bumper had been scrapped off down to the fibreglass ( an area a bit bigger than I quarter ) and some other accompanying scratches to the area. All told an area about the size of your hand had some damage.
Now it's not a huge amount of damage and I can fix it myself. But what irks me the most is how dishonest people can be. If he had just owned up to it straight off and maybe cut a few bucks off to pay for some paint I wouldn't be writing this to tell you not to use US Rider as your carrier.

I have no problems with 1 Flatrate as a broker but if they tell you that US Rider is picking up your vehicle ask them to find someone else.
