Federal Law Requires Disclosure
  1. We require reviewers to disclose whether they were offered an incentive or compensation to post a review because our visitors have asked for this information. We allow visitors to view ratings and reviews with or without compensated reviews in the report.
  2. Federal Law Requires this Disclosure - The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has ruled that endorsements and testimonials (Reviews) are required to disclose. The FTC considers someone receiving cash or in-kind payment (free stuff... or in general something in return) is considered a paid endorsement and MUST disclose that material connection.

Checking the box satisfies this FTC requirement.

So if you are submitting the review form for any reason other than because you are a nice person wanting to share your experience, you MUST check the box.
Warning
Auto transporters on many occasions have tried to get around this requirement. They frequently work very hard to convince you that their incentive does not require you checking the box.

If a company tries to tell you not to check the box and tries to explain their incentive does not apply, please contact us to let us know. The company is likely asking you to break our sites policies and federal law.

It is Illegal

Bottom line it is illegal for a company to pay for a review. That can be many different ways but it always involves money - - - compensation through a raffle (you still get money), - $50 gift card(still money), or they will give you money - back from the money they took. All of this is illegal so Transport Reviews MUST disclose incentives and compensations. - Most every company here does one of those or something like it. - Now unlike those companies - Snowbird is not above the law and we - do not -  - - pay our customers for any reviews.
