Ms Flood booked through a broker and we do not know what date she was promised but we do know our truck was delayed due to the I-75 rock slide that created a fiasco of a detour @ the TN/KY border among other issues. We did inform the broker of the delay. As for delivery, the car was NOT driven 30 miles. Ms Flood was angry because the carrier did not drive right up to her home on a heavily tree lined street which would have caused damage to her car as well as others. The truck parked several blocks away and the owner of Young's followed in our clearly marked company van to assist the driver in his deliveries that day.
Our drivers are professional, clean cut, experienced car haulers. We do apologize that the driver raised his voice but in his defense he did so in an attempt to be heard over her screaming at him. He did not threaten her in any way & was only attempting to explain why the truck could not come into her neighborhood. She was the more threatening person in that exchange.
The insurance denied her claim because the car was delivered in daylight hours on a sunny day and she looked around the car and signed that it was in good shape. She did not claim damage until a day later and even then she contacted the broker, not our company.
As any carrier can tell you, a damage claim a day later could have happened after the car left our custody. If we damage it we pay to fix it but we refuse to be bullied into fixing anything that was not our fault.
