I chose North American Auto Transport to ship my car from NY to Hawaii. They contracted it out without my permission to West Coast. I notified North American that I had just had a paint job to take out nicks and scratches because I had just bought the car. They said it was no problem and if my car recieved any damage at all it would be covered. Well my car arrived with $1500 worth of damage done to it. I sent in pictures, estimates and proof that it was all done while in west coast's care. They told me I was lying and it already had damage even thought I have a couple bills of lading which clearly states what side had scratches and it was not the side I had proof of damage for. They refused to pay it. I still have proof of all this and filed a complaint with the better business bureu and they were forced to close the account because after 2 attempts to contact the company they still would not respond. NEVER EVER use this company!!! Plus my car was 2 weeks late being picked up. A couple more days and I would have already been on a plane to Hawaii!

We do understand the frustration that Lisa is feeling regarding the damage that occured to her vehicle during the transport of her vehicle. I personally handled this claim and tried to explain to Lisa that we did a condition report at the pick up location of her vehicle and once we delivered the vehicle to the Long Beach Port a condition report was done there too. The damage that is being claimed was not noted at either location, the damage being claimed was not noted until Lisa's vehicle arrived in Hawaii. It is clearly possible that during the transport overseas that this damage could have taken place. We are not trying to shirk our responsibilities at all, we just want the right company to be held accountable for the damages.
