VLG and TRANSPORT-IT VERY POOR SERVICE !
Review: Subject: VLG and Transport-It I had first contack with Mark on 7/24 about transporting my truck from Meridian Ms to Poway Ca. He assured me he could pick up the truck on or by 7/25 or 7/26 at the latest and deliver in 4 to 7 days. Paid him a deposit of $250.00 on 7/24 and we had to leave on 7/27. Truck was NOT picked up on 7/27 and when I called Mark he stated that it might be Monday (7/30) that a driver had cancelled and he had to arrange for a new driver. I arrived in San Diego, Ca on 7/31 and called Mark only to find out that my truck still had NOT been picked up. He assured me it would be on the road by 8/1 or 8/2. I've called Mark, Arthur, and Larry 37 times as of today (8/9) and each and every time I'm told that this is "not the best route" for transporting a vehicle, but "they" are working each and every minute to get my truck here. The last 4 conversations with "them" have resulted in a mention that I move the truck to Memphis or pay a "little" more to have a driver go to Meridian. At last look, I have a signed contract to pick my truck up in Meridian Ms, deliver it to Poway Ca area, for $950.00. No where in that contract does it mention that I might have to deliver my truck to another shipping lane for "their" pickup. Due to the fact that I need my truck, at last conversation with Arthur, Larry and Mark, I, against my better judgement, agreed to pay an additional $200.00 (total now $1150.00) to get my truck here. (ALL 4,MYSELF, LARRY,MARK and ARTHUR AGREED TO THE $200.00 INCREASE) On 8/6 I called Larry and he stated that he did in fact have a driver and my truck would be picked up on 8/15. Well as usual NO pick up on 8/15 but on 8/16 it was picked up. On 8/19 the driver called and stated he had my truck in San Diego and wawnted directions. Gave him directions and went to pick my truck up (3 blocks away) and was told I OWED HIM $1150.00 instead of the $900.00 we 4 had agreed upon. After several phone calls to Mark, Larry, and Arthur, several threats by the driver to re-load my truck, I paid the driver $1150.00 CASH. He Stated that he would not transport anything that far for $900.00 and I heard him tell Arthur or Larry the same thing. SO, after a total bill of $1400.00 I have my truck. I signed a contract with Mark to move my truck for $950.00 I paid Mark a deposit of $250.00 I then had a balance of $700.00 I then AUTHORIZED a $200.00 increase after a 22 day delay. I recieved my truck and had to pay $1150.00 This is $450.00 OVER the original contract price. I now have an appointment with the MTO (Military Transportation Office) on FRIDAY 8/24/12. I FULLY intend to be the worst advertisement VLG Transportation and Transport-It could have ! This is by FAR and ABOVE the WORST vehicle move I have EVER had ! I am retired from the military and have had over 15 moves and this was the WORST, due FULLY to VLG Transportation and Transport-It. For a company to LIE as much as this one did, charge ANOTHER $250.00 ABOVE the agreed price is unforgivable ! There is NO way I would ever recommend Transport-It, of VLG Transportation to anyone ! I would NOT recommend " Transport-It" or "V.L.G. Transportation" . They have been very un-professional, un-caring and un-concerned. This company, Mark, Arthur, and Larry have cost me at present at least 4 weeks without a truck, and this is most unsatisfactory under any condition. PLEASE BE AWARE........! SOMETIMES THE LOWEST BIDDER ISN'T THE LOWEST COST !
