Shipped a 1931 Model A coupe from west palm beach, FL to Houston, TX. Patrick M. Was fantastic. This was my first time shipping a vehicle so my learning curve was steep. I quickly found out Not all shipping companies are the same. I had a nightmare of a time with trying to ship with another shipping company/broker. (Took over a week to get response, driver did not like amount broker gave them so called me directly to try to get more money etc.). Also, at one point the driver wanted to load the antique model A on a flatbed with a FORKLIFT/Tow Crane. The other company simply did not care.
I was inheriting the vehicle so I was under a time constraint, flustered, and anxious.
Enter my dealing with united routes, Patrick was kind, understanding, and followed through on EVERY commitment. I requested a quote Late Thursday evening, first thing Friday morning Patrick M. Called, walked me through process, gave me a quote, talked about the care the drivers he uses take with vehicles etc. He then FOLLOWED up Friday evening to see if I was still interested. (Friday was the day when the other driver tried to pick up the car with a forklift). I emailed Patrick at 10-11pm to ask him to call me in morning, HE ACTUALLY RESPONDED!!! and said he would call in morning. Again he did what he said called back in morning and gave me 2 options for shipping within the same quote. He could have it picked up the next day (Sunday) delivered Thursday. Or picked up Monday and delivered Tuesday. He then took the time to go over the pros and cons of each route the drivers were taking, size of trailer to negotiate pick up and delivery areas etc. I chose the Monday-Tuesday option. He already knew the driver because he had worked with him before, he told me that it was a father-son team Peter and Peter Jr. Peter Jr called me at 6am Monday saying he was 30 mins out from picking up the car. Patrick called me in mid morning to verify the pickup, and get the partial payment. (I did not have to decide on payment until driver picked up, no non-refundable deposit etc like at other company). My Model A was delivered flawlessly by 1pm Tuesday. What service!!!!!
I learned a lot being my first time shipping a car, the shipping industry is full of unqualified, and unethical individuals. United Routes and Patrick Milord are the type of people you WANT to do business with. No, they were not the low bid/least expensive, but my piece of mind, and the service they offer is worth the small premium. When you want someone who will do what they say and take care of everything for you with little effort, and exceed their commitments, choose united routes and ask for Patrick Milord, he's the type of person you would want working for your own company.
