Steven Friedman,
I cancelled your transport with the original carrier only because they disappointed me on another job that I assigned them subsequent to yours and not because of any low bid as you so conveniently put it. What you are saying makes no sense at all. What would a low bid have to do with it? If anything, I would be happy about getting you a better price.
As your broker and a renowned expert in this industry, I acted solely in your best interest in deciding to place you with a better carrier. But instead of showing appreciation for my efforts on your behalf, you began whining like a little child.
I told you that I always quote a range of possible prices for any given route. There is not a single or set price during the bidding process because each carrier exercises their own discretionary limits with regards to their rates and nothing is final until a carrier accepts your bid. You were explained all of this in the very beginning well before I even agreed to accept your business.
You acknowledged that you trusted me implicitly and would allow me to negotiate the best deal on your behalf and not second-guess my judgment. Yet after working so hard to find you another carrier for the same low rate of $650 as the previous one was charging, you decided to try and cut me out of the deal and attempt to work directly with the carrier, saving yourself the broker's fee. You claimed that I was charging you too much. Shame on you for being such a cheapskate. I should have known better when you asked me during our first conversation why it was necessary for you to have to go through a broker to have your car shipped. Why can't you deal directly with the carrier? It's very simple. Because we all have to earn a living to survive and that is why auto transport brokers exist in this industry.
