I shipped two cars from Houston to Northern California on 8/24/2009. Tn'T was one of the more expansive vender but I was convinced by my furniture mover that it is a good company so I decided to go with them.

My 2006 Mercedes Benz S430 only had 26K miles and still on its first set of tires when it was shipped. I cleared everything inside because I was told anything left in the car is not the responsibility of the shipper. When I flew into Santa Clara, CA to pick up the car, the brand New original Michelin spare tire (245/45 or about $300) was switched into an old used Dunlop. I knew I had a brand new original because I was going to replace the front tires after I get to California. I had the check out guy at Santa Clara marked it on the check out paper.

After I filed the claim, Tn'T replied that they did not mark anything inside the car so they are not responsible for items they did not mark. They further stated that because they did not checked the trunk, so there were no evidence I had a spare. This was rediculus and insulting because it implies that I may not had a spare when checked in. What do they expect customers do? take the spare off the car and take it with you on the airplane, and put it back in trunk after get off the airplane 2000 miles away from the original point?

This auto shipper is dishonest and not sincere in dealing with customers. They did not do anything to protect customers' interest. They kn0w your new high cost spare tire could be switched but demanded you to give them the key with full trust, and denied any responsibility afterward.

Anyone intends to ship his/her relatively new car with a good full size spare tire in the trunk should not trust this auto transport company. It has been almost 4 months since I shipped the cars and they have not done a thing after I protested their decision of denying my cliam.

I am glad there is a forum for consumer to detail and share their bad experience.

The customer's claim was for a spare tire that he claims was switched on one of his vehicles. The TNT Bill of Lading has a specific area where the spare tire can be noted, this was not marked on the vehicle's origin inspection. TNT has been shipping vehicles since 1968 and maintains an A+ rating with the BBB. We understand that the occasional dissatisfied customer may post a complaint on review sites such as this one. We are sorry that we could not come to a mutual agreement with this customer.
