We had the need to have two RV's moved from a campsite from one state to another. I will be honest and say I did not have alot of knowledge about them. They were over 20 years old and any information I had on them was long gone. I was able to send a picture of one of them, along with the make and model. I also stated that one did not have brakes and could not be driven. Max was very patient with me and I appreciated it. After receiving the photo, Max emailed me stated that the RV in the photo weighed over 11,000 pounds. He knew this because "We transport these on a daily basis." I thought great! He gave me a quote $800 for one and $900 for the one with no brakes. I explained that we were in another state, but would be able to meet the drivers with enough notice. I also stated that we needed them both moved. We were given a date and started the trip up. While on the road, I spoke with Kelly and once again stated that we needed both RV's moved at the same time. I was told yes, that's will happen, but they kept giving me the driver info for picking up only one. We drove the two and a half hours, and then waited another 3 hours in the rain waiting for the truck to arrive. When it did arrive, it was beyond raggedy. I honestly did not think it would make it up the driveway. The driver got out of the truck, looked at the RV's and stated he couldn't take them because he couldn't drive on the highways with anything over 10 and a half feet. This confused me because the bed of his truck was at least 3 feet high, which meant the RV’s, could not be higher than 7 feet. The driver sat in his truck for over an hour, then left without saying a word. I left a voicemail, but did not receive and answer back. We stayed at the site until 7 o'clock waiting for someone to contact us. On the way home, when we got through the mountains, I received a text from Max saying the driver for the larger RV cancelled, but he had someone who could drive it down. This confused me because I had told him that one did not have brakes and was given a higher quote because it didn't have brakes, so why would he ask if it could be driven? The next day or so, I received a text from Max quite upset about the whole thing stating that was why he needed all the info because he didn't know there was an air conditioner unit on top. Call me confused, but the picture I sent him showed the air conditioner on it, and I was told they "transported them on a daily basis." So, a few days later, I was told that arrangements were made for both of the RV's to be picked up at the same time by one truck. Great, so we made arrangements to make the way back up to the campsite. The driver called me and asked some questions about the exact location. For some reason I asked the driver did he know the exact height of the vehicles, He said yes, he was told they were under 9 feet tall. Now by this time, the information was sent that one was 11feet tall and the other was 11 and half feet tall. The driver said, "I can't transport anything over 10 feet." He said he would call Max and someone would get in touch with us. That was in December. In April, my lawyer told me to file a suit against them because they took $500 and vanished. He said, "Send them an e-mail stating that you are going to file a suit against them and let's see what happens." Surprise! Within hours, I not only received a phone call, but an email.
I was told I would have to file the suit in Florida. Yahoo! That means a road trip!
