A quick background: My girl selected this company to ship her car and I added my Jeep to the same truck, shipping two vehicles from Maryland to California (@3000 miles). We were on the road so my stepfather handled the shipping on his end (MD) and I handled the receiving (CA).
1.) They did not charge my girl a deposit, but charged me $100 deposit ahead of time. They didn't email me a receipt, order confirmation, or anything else until I repeatedly contacted them via email. They never emailed me a landers bill from the departure. The driver emailed me the landers bill from his phone upon delivery. At that point I had no means to print it, or review it except in the dark on a cell phone.
2.) Jeep departure: Driver calls at 10AM, says he will be there in two hours (12PM). Driver calls back at 3PM and says he has a toothache and wont come get the jeep at all on the same day. The driver calls back at 7:00PM and says he will be there in two hours (9PM). Driver eventually shows up at 11PM and explains "The dispatcher kept sending me on more pickups." NOT OUR PROBLEM. We waited from 10AM-1100PM for him to pickup the Jeep.
3.) Well in advance of the departure I called and notified the dispatcher that I have a bike rack that sits flush on the back of my Jeep. I asked them if I should remove it. "No, it should be fine if it sits right at the rear spare tire". To be certain I got (who I was told would be the driver's) email, and took four photos of the bike rack, emailing them to the driver. I called back and talked to the driver who said he got the pictures and everything looked fine. Needless to say the actual driver (I'm assuming not the guy I talked to - who knows) ended up pulling it off and shoving it in the front seat, resting it across the e-brake and nearly blocking reverse for the 5 speed. Later I saw the driver sitting on the rack while he drove the vehicle off the truck (it's heavy-sturdy/Hollywood 3-bike rack that attaches to the hitch receiver) mashing it against the e-brake.
4.) Delivery. Driver called us at 3PM saying he would be there at 6PM. Driver once again shows up at 11PM. Shows me the only copy of the landers agreement I had seen - a pdf on his cell phone then emails it to me - at 11PM. Vehicle inspections had to take place in the dark on an unlit street. The front of the greenhouse (drivers seat) looked as if they had been tossed. Someone had gone through everything - from taking change to unpacking several boxes, leaving the content spread about the seats. I should note that the driver unlocked the Jeep with my keys to get it off the truck and there was no sign of break-in. This was obviously done by someone with the keys to the vehicle.
My girl's car had a few scratches but they also went through her belongings in the front seat, stealing (of all things) a cupholder and several CD's that were physically removed from the sleeves, and the sleeves were crammed back into the CD case.
I'll be passing on the $50 off my next move for writing this review. Go with an established, Better-Business-Bureau Accredited mover - which these clowns are not. If you think this is a case of sour grapes then please roll over to the BBB page for this company and read the reviews posted there and look for a trend in the complaints.
